BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Just off Perkins near Acadian Village is home to the state's only Trader Joe's. The grand opening for the business is Thursday.
Trader Joe's is a national chain with more than 400 stores nationwide. The 13,000 square feet grocery store is preparing to accept customers in just two days. Inside the store, you will see that the store's interior features original art work depicting area landmarks.
The store manager is ready to get opened.
"We carry everything from the exotic to the basic and about 80 percent of what we sell is under the Trader Joe's private label, and what that means is its free of artificial colors and preservatives," said Brian Augustine, Trader Joe's manager.
The Acadian Village is also getting two new crosswalks to make the new shopping area foot friendly.
