GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Police credit the public with providing a tip that helped to identify one of two suspects accused of stealing televisions from Walmart.

The Gonzales Police Department reported Samuel Wallace, 45, of Baton Rouge, is wanted for felony theft.

Detectives said a Crime Stoppers tip led to the identification.

Wallace and a still unidentified second suspect are accused of stealing a pair of 50" LG TVs and surround sound system from the Gonzales Walmart on July 5.

Investigators said the pair made their escape by taking the items through a fire exit in the garden center and driving off in a beige or gold mini-van.

Anyone who knows where Wallace can be found is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
