NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - Three men, including the suspected driver, have been arrested following a hit and run crash that left a New Orleans police officer dead.
NOPD said Justin McKey, 25, is charged with hit and run causing death or serious injury and manslaughter. Reports indicate he is believed to have been driving the car that hit Officer Rodney Thomas.
Bill Cager, 34, was booked with obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact to manslaughter. He owns the auto shop where a white Porsche Panamera matching the description of the car that hit Thomas was discovered.
Kenneth Haley, 28, was also charged with obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact to manslaughter.
Police said the trio was arrested between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Tuesday.
They added more arrests are possible.
It has been reported Thomas was directing traffic Sunday after an accident on the highrise in New Orleans when his truck and then him were hit by a Porsche.
