Police search for domestic abuse suspect

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man accused of forcing his way into his ex-girlfriend's home and threatening her while her two children were there.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said Kendrick Jones, 41, is wanted on several charges. He is 6' 1" and weighs 195 pounds. He faces the following charges:

Domestic abuse

Aggravated assault with child endangerment

Aggravated battery

Aggravated burglary

Simple criminal damage to property

Officers reported on Feb. 28, Jones forced his way into the home he and his ex-girlfriend once shared together. They said he then threatened her with a screwdriver. The victim's two small children were home at the time. Their ages were not given.

According to investigators, while the woman was on the phone with police, Jones used the screwdriver to cut the phone line. Detectives said the victim's thumb was injured in the process.

They added as the suspect was leaving, he used the screwdriver to puncture the outer metal door of the home.
