BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a shooting that killed 20-year-old Jermayne Jackson on May 1, 2013.
Jeremiah Brooder, 19, of Baton Rouge was arrested Thursday night just after 11:30 p.m. for the shooting that took place in the 4200 block of Provost St., which is just south of Gus Young Avenue.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said Jackson and another 20-year-old man were riding in the back of a vehicle headed down Provost. Officers reported the other people inside the vehicle told them they heard bullets hit the vehicle and noticed the two men were injured.
Investigators said the group drove to the hospital, where Jackson died. The other victim was treated. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Brooden was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with attempted first degree murder and first degree murder.
