BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - According to a new poll, nearly two-thirds of Louisiana residents think cuts to state health care are unnecessary.

15 percents said the cuts have been unfortunate, but necessary given tight budgets and 17 percent said the cuts were needed to make services more efficient.

Additionally, 70 percent of those responding to the poll said that the state government should accept money to expand the Medicaid program.  24 percent said the state should reject the money.

The LSU Public Policy Research Lab conducted the poll, which has a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points.
