Hammond man arrested on burglary charges

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Livingston Parish Officials arrested a man during a traffic stop because of the stolen items found in his vehicle.
Deputies spotted items that looked suspicious in Ian Martin's vehicle on December 12, 2012.
During the traffic stop, investigators were able to link the suspicious items to burglaries in the area, including a burglary that took place a short time before deputies pulled Martin over.
Ian Martin, 28, of Hammond, LA was arrested and charged with eight counts of simple burglary of inhabited dwelling and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.
He is currently in the Livingston Parish Detention Center with a $500,000 bond.
Investigators are in the process of linking the property to burglary victims. This could result in more charges.
The investigation is ongoing. Future arrests may follow.
