BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The body of a missing child was found on LA Hwy 190, just east of LA 415 Saturday morning.

WBRSO first received a report about the missing boy from a Christmas party on North River Rd. in Port Allen around 9:15 p.m.

Jared Sandifer of Louisiana State Police said the body was found around 1 a.m. The body of the boy, who suffers from autism, was found in the grass beyond the westbound shoulder of Hwy 190.

Troopers believe the child left the residence on North River Rd. and was walking down a cane field road towards US 190 when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle that was traveling westbound.  There are very few leads on a vehicle at this point.  Anyone with information is asked to call Troop A at 225-754-8500.

The victim's name has not been released.
