Teens arrested for Tigerland robberies

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Three people have been arrested in connection with a series of robberies in the Tigerland area.

Khristian George and Diondre Handy, both 19, are accused of robbing people at gunpoint.

Police say in one of the incidents, George and Handy tried to rob a group of people, but two of the victims fought back.  During a scuffle over the gun, two of the victims were shot in the hand.

George and Handy are facing a long list of charges:

Three counts of armed robbery
One count attempted armed robbery
One count attempted first degree murder
Three counts of simple robbery
Possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance
Possession of marijuana
Possession of a stolen firearm.

Monica Marie George, 39, was also arrested for possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana and possession of a stolen firearm.

The investigation into the robberies is ongoing.  More arrests and charges are possible.
