Dead dolphin found in Mississippi River

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A crew on the Mississippi River near the Highway 190 bridge spotted what is believed to be a dead dolphin.

A Wildlife and Fisheries agent says this is the farthest north on the river a dolphin has washed ashore.

They suspect it's a four to five-foot dolphin and suspect it's from the Gulf of Mexico.

Wildlife and Fisheries crews are having a difficult time retrieving the dolphin by land and will attempt to collect it via the river Tuesday.
