ZACHARY, LA (WAFB) - The pastor of a Baton Rouge ministry has been arrested for trying to burn her own house down.

Bridgett Barnes Steib, 49, is accused of setting the multi-alarm fire at the home she shares with her husband, Joseph Steib, on Jacock Rd. in Zachary.

The Steibs are pastors at the Ministry of Love on Hooper Rd. in Baton Rouge.

An investigation by the Zachary Fire Department, the Baton Rouge Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal's Office led to the arrest.

Bridgett Steib has been charged with simple arson and arson with intent to defraud.

A second woman, Lucille Brown, 42, was arrested and has been charged with simple arson in connection with the case.

Investigators say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
