Police arrest suspected getaway driver in deadly shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting that happened Saturday morning.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Michael Francois, 23, was taken into custody Sunday morning.
Investigators believe Francois was the getaway driver in a shooting on College Drive that left Jordan Key, 18, dead.
Francois was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of accessory to first-degree murder and accessory to attempted murder.
According to BRPD, officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Rabey Street near College Drive around 2:30 a.m. after reports of gunshots fired in that area.
After arriving on the scene they were told a man had been shot and he left the area in a vehicle. Officers were later told the car was on Perkins Road and South Acadian Thruway.
When they located the car they found Key dead inside and another man who had suffered a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening. There is no known motive for this shooting.
BRPD expects more arrests as the investigation continues.
