BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - In 2010 LSU ace Kevin Gausman was drafted in the sixth round. Two years later, he has exploded up the charts being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles with the 4th pick.

Gausman had been gaining steam this week, with rumors of him being picked in the Top 5, some as high as the second pick.

The 6'4, 185 pound sophomore out of Centennial, Colorado led the Tigers this year with an 11-1 record and sparkling 2.72 ERA.

Gausman pitched 115 2/3 innings, striking out 128 while walking only 27.

Scouting reports on Gausman: Tall and lean with some muscular development possible. Overall, he has a large frame through the hips and shoulders, lower half is larger which makes him play taller.

Gausman has lighting arm speed and a body that can fill out a good 15-20 pounds. His long arms and legs should press a longer stride and extend his release point, which will make his entire arsenal that much more effective.
