BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Oregon State starter Jace Fry and two relievers scattered six hits and held Belmont to a single run, leading the Beavers to a 2-1 victory in the opening game of the Baton Rouge regional at LSU's Alex Box Stadium.

Fry was cruising along in the sixth inning when he signaled to the dugout he needed to come out due to an injury.

Tony Bryant and Matt Boyd finished what he started, outdueling Chase Brookshire and Josh Davis, who combined to three-hit OSU, but still ended up with the loss. Ryan Barnes led the Beavers with a 2-for-3 game including an RBI bunt single that plated the winning run.

Oregon State advances to a winners' bracket game Saturday at 7:00pm against the winner of #1 LSU and #4 UL-Monroe.

Belmont will play Saturday afternoon's elimination game at 2:00pm against the loser of the LSU-ULM matchup.
