Alex Box Regional Team Preview: #2 Oregon State

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - As number one LSU prepares for a run at the College World Series, they first have to make it through three teams heading to Baton Rouge with one goal: upset the Tigers.

Here is a look at one of the teams with a target on the Tigers:

#2 Oregon State Beavers (38-18, 18-12)

Oregon State is making its fourth consecutive post-season appearance. The Beavers travel to Baton Rouge winning eight of its last ten games, including a season ending sweep of rival Oregon.

Oregon State has fourteen players on the roster with postseason experience. The Beavers have not committed an error in the last seven games and boast a .977 fielding percentage.

Michael Conforto leads the Beavers hitting attack with a .343 batting average. Conforto has 13 home runs, 12 doubles and 71 RBIs. Tyler Smith has a hefty .350 average and eleven doubles. The Beavers bring a team batting average of .283 to Alex Box.

Oregon State has a team ERA of .351. Jace Fry leads the Beavers with a 5-3 record and a 2.48 ERA. Dan Child has a 6-3 record with a 2.75 ERA. Tony Bryant leads the team with eleven saves.

The Beavers will face the Belmont Bruins Friday and will play either LSU or UL-Monroe  Saturday.
