WALKER, LA (WAFB) - Investigators reported alcohol is suspected in a crash that left one person dead and four others hospitalized after they were all thrown from a car early Wednesday morning.
The Louisiana State Police said the single-car wreck happened on Walker South Road near Drakeford McMorris Road just after midnight.
Stanley Williams Sr., 64, of Denham Springs was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner's Office.
Sherrie Forbes, 43, of Livingston was airlifted to a hospital with critical injuries.
Deborah Walker, 52, of Livingston; Jackie Williams of Denham Springs, 60; and Stanley Williams Jr., 41, of Denham Springs were taken to various hospitals with several injuries.
Troopers said no one in the car was wearing a seatbelt.
They have not determined who was driving the car.
They added all five people were impaired.
Trooper Russell Graham reported the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier they were in veered off the road in a curve, hit a culvert, went airborne, flipped several times and ended up on its roof.
Charges are pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
