Man sentenced for fraud and identity theft

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Florida man will spend nearly eight years in prison for a fraud scheme.
Arnold Thomas, 47, admitted to creating fake wage reports for several people and using their names to file false applications for unemployment benefits from the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
Thomas netted more than $1.2 million by sending in almost 400 fake applications. He was ordered to return the money he stole.
He was sentenced to 94 months in prison.
