BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities say three people, two with gunshot wounds, arrived at Woman's Hospital early Thursday morning. Two of those people have been arrested.

Police say two vehicles were going southbound on Airline Highway just before 1 a.m. when shots were fired at one of the vehicles. The second vehicle, occupied by Calvin Sanders, 22, and Dallas Simon, 22, and one or two other people, was ahead of the first car driving recklessly trying to reach the Woman's Hospital for medical attention. Police believe two of the occupants had been shot somewhere on Airline Highway and the group drove to the hospital for help.

Woman's Hospital does not have an emergency room to treat gunshot victims, so EMS was called. Paramedics treated the shooting victims on the scene and transported them to another hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, gunshots were reported fired on Airline Highway at Florida Boulevard around 12:52 a.m.

Shortly after making it out to the scene, officers learned five people had just walked into Woman's Hospital and two of them told security they had been shot. Police then went to the hospital to gather what evidence they could there.

Sanders was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Simon was charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Police say the details of this incident are still unclear and under investigation. There is no motive or suspect information at this time.
