Candidate list narrowed to 6 for EBR School Dist. Superintendent

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Of 44 candidates vying for the job of East Baton Rouge Parish Schools Superintendent, only six remain after Tuesday night's board meeting.

The six include: Herman Brister, Kelt Cooper, Tisha Edwards, Samuel King, Maria Pitre-Martin and Elliot Smalley.

The candidate chosen will replace current East Baton Rouge Superintendent John
Dilworth. Dilworth did not re-sign his contract, which ends June 30, 2012.

The discussion before the board is how the will interview the six candidates. They are considering cost and budget, and if they're able to fly them in or if there is another way to conduct the public interviews.
