Opening statements to begin in Jeffery Lee Guillory murder trial

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The trial of Baton Rouge's third suspected serial killer is expected to get underway Thursday morning.
Opening statements are set to begin in the second-degree murder trial of Jeffery Lee Guillory.
He is accused of killing Renee Newman back in 2002.
Guillory is also accused of killing two other women in Baton Rouge.
If a jury convicts Guillory of second-degree murder, he faces life in prison.
