NAPOLEONVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Two men are accused of stealing a purse Tuesday from an elderly woman at a memorial service.

According to reports, Travonta Ausama, 17, and Skiler Rhodes, 19, took the woman's purse at St. Anne Catholic Church and took off running.  The woman gave chase on foot as she called 911.  When she told the men that she called the cops, they dropped the purse and a pellet gun and kept running.

Ausama was caught near Highway 1 and Highway 1008 after a brief chase.  Deputies say he confessed to the crime and identified Rhodes, who turned himself in Tuesday night.

Both men have been charged with purse snatching.

The elderly woman was not injured.  Her belongings were returned to her.
