BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Firefighters had to beat their way into a popular cell phone store where a fire that investigators believe was intentionally lit sparked early Tuesday morning.

Authorities said someone broke into Big Tyme Communications on Greenwell Street just before 4 a.m. and set it on fire in the process.

Members of the Baton Rouge Fire Department were forced to break the glass of the front door in order to make it to the fire source.

Despite their efforts to get it put out, the business is considered a total loss.

Several nearby stores sustained smoke damage.
