BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Accused serial killer Jeffery Lee Guillory was back in court Wednesday morning.

Guillory is looking to get some statements tossed out of his upcoming trial.

Defense attorneys also asked for convicted serial killer Sean Vincent Gillis to testify.

They contend Guillory is being charged with crimes Gillis committed.

District Court Judge Tony Marabella presided over the motions hearing.

He said he will rule on the motions on Sept. 13.

Gillis was convicted of killing Donna Bennett Johnson in 2004.

Guillory is charged with killing Renee Newman back in 2002.
