No Kill initiative brings positive change in animal control

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – The East Baton Rouge Parish Animal Control and Rescue Center is seeing positive numbers following their No Kill initiative.

Statistics indicate a 28 percent and 67 percent increase in positive outcomes from January to May in 2009 and 2010.

The rescue center along with volunteers and other organizations have helped significantly by providing shelters and helping to get pets into new homes. The center allows groups to assist in moving animals out into the community for adoption.
