Suspect accused of shooting deputy kills himself

DARROW, LA (WAFB) - Authorities say the man suspected of shooting an East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's deputy has been shot inside a trailer in Darrow, which is in Ascension Parish.
Reports from the scene indicate DeWayne Steward's gunshot wound was self-inflicted. He is dead.
Deputies went inside the trailer after Steward refused to surrender peacefully.
Steward is accused of shooting the deputy in the neck during a traffic stop and then running away.
