While most areas of our country can easily identify the four seasons, here in south Louisiana, we have entered our 5th Season. It's a time for being vigilant and being prepared. We are now in hurricane season. The early weeks of this six-month long season are the time we need to rethink our personal planning.

Last year, Gustav reminded us of the dangers, the destruction, and the inconveniences of being in the path of a hurricane. Some families are still trying to repair damages to their homes and nearly all of us suffered through days without electricity.

The WAFB weather team has been working to make sure you have the best information to prepare for the storm season. On Thursday, June 4th at 6:30pm, join us for "The 5th Season." We'll take a look at the lessons learned from Gustav and what to expect this hurricane season. Are we better prepared to deal with widespread power outages and what can you do around your home to help that cause?

It's 30 minutes that could make a difference for you and your family. If you can't watch on-air, the special will be posted online as well.
