Baton Rouge, La

Autumn Payton is a Walker, LA native who has found her way back to news after a six-year public relations career.

A passion for sharing community stories and events through pictures and video on social media has led her back to WAFB where she interned during college.

Autumn is a two-time Southern University- Baton Rouge graduate with a bachelor's degree in Mass communications- broadcast journalism in 2013 and master’s degree in Public Administration- Public Policy in 2016.

In 2014, Autumn began working at the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office as a communications officer. One year later, in 2015 she became a Public Information Officer for Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Twenty First Judicial District Attorney’s Office where she has written, produced, and published content covering the district’s court news, crime, community highlights, and 2016 flood devastation in Livingston Parish.

Autumn has a heart for the people of the 225 community. When she’s not working you can catch her organizing community events with Club Outreach, a local nonprofit organization in Walker, weightlifting at the gym, enjoying time with family and friends, and Sunday brunching.
