6th grader arrested after cutting fellow student during argument, officials say
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A middle schooler is facing a battery charge after allegedly cutting another student during an argument at school on Monday, March 13.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, two sixth-grade students got into an argument, and one of them cut the other with a pocket knife.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. at Capitol Middle School on Greenwell Springs Road.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life threatening, officials said.
The sixth-grader who used the pocket knife was arrested on an aggravated second-degree battery charge and booked into juvenile detention, according to the sheriff’s office.
