Landyn says it has been tough and not knowing for so long was definitely the hardest part.

“When I first heard the news, I was pretty much in shock it was very hard to comprehend because it just didn’t seem like him. He wouldn’t go; he wouldn’t disappear like that. So I knew immediately when I heard it and that he was missing, I knew that it was it was most likely bad,” he said.

Millard was reported missing while on a business trip in Baton Rouge. He and his client went to an LSU basketball game and then went to a bar downtown.

Millard was last seen around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Happy’s Irish Pub on Third Street in the downtown area, officials said.

“I definitely thought that he would be coming back. It’s just not like him at all, he’s not that guy. I mean even if he would go have fun for a night, maybe, he’s still going to come home. He’s still going to come home to his family. He’s got obligations, he’s a good man,” Landyn explained.

The Baton Rouge Police Department is asking the public for help locating a missing man.

Besides the Baton Rouge Police Department, several search crews joined in to try and find Millard. The United Cajun Navy assisted this past weekend.

“Everybody joined in Saturday, we combed the river really good. We combed downtown, we went a little North of the area because were kind of getting reports of something that maybe happened in some areas,” said Todd Terrell, who is the president of the United Cajun Navy.

However, it was not early Monday morning when BRPD says someone driving by Scenic Highway smelled a foul odor. When officers went to the vacant lot next to the old Rhodes Funeral Home, they found Millard’s body wrapped in a rug.

Millard’s cause of death is unknown at this time pending autopsy results, according to officials.

This is an ongoing investigation. Baton Rouge police say they are not ruling anything out at this point in time.

Millard had two sons, was a stepfather to two teenagers, and has a 7-year-old daughter.
