BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Fog will be the biggest weather issue Monday. Areas of dense fog will stick around through a large chunk of the morning. The fog will slowly start to lift by late morning.

Be sure to use fog-related safety tips if you plan to be out and about early Monday. Monday afternoon a couple of showers will be possible as our next storm system approaches. Monday’s action will stay severe free.

A Marginal (1 out of 5) to Slight (2 out of 5) Risk for severe weather has been outlined for the local area on Tuesday. Off and-on showers and t-storms will be possible throughout the day as a cold front slowly pushes through.

One or two storms could be capable of becoming strong to severe. A severe weather outbreak remains unlikely. All forms of severe weather will be possible with large hail being the primary concern. We also could see a couple of heavy rainmakers capable of producing 1-2″ of rain in a short amount of time. A very localized threat of nuisance-type flooding will exist Tuesday.

Next weekend looks decent with comfortable temperatures and mainly dry conditions. A lot of uncertainty remains related to the long-term forecast portion of the 10-day. Model agreement is lacking and for now, we’ll keep a slight mention of rain for the first half of next week.
