Emergency officials report that a shooting happened around 6 a.m. in the 2100 block of Gardere Lane, near Ned Avenue.
A spokesman with EBRSO said that deputies received a call about two men down on the side of the road, and when they arrived on the scene, they found two men near the sidewalk along Gardere Lane.
EMS transported one of the men to a local hospital for treatment, where he is now in stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
The second man, later identified as Roberto Marquez, 42, was found dead several yards away, closer to the intersection of Gardere Lane and Ned Avenue, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials say the coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine Marquez’s cause of death.
