Singer Laine Hardy named Louisiana ambassador

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Singer Laine Hardy of Livingston has been named a new Louisiana ambassador.

He received the award on Wednesday, May 5, from Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and was congratulated by Gov. John Bel Edwards.

Hardy then performed at Louisiana Seafood Day for the Legislature in Baton Rouge.

He will appear in a new ad campaign for the state to promote tourism.

Hardy won American Idol Season 17.
