Arrest made in fatal shooting on Wooddale Boulevard

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department say they have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting on Wooddale Boulevard on Sunday, April 18.

Police officials say around officers responded to the 600 block of Wooddale Boulevard around 7 p.m. to reports of shots fired.

Officers say found Shelton Watson, 50, of Gretna, suffering from gunshot wounds inside of an apartment. Watson died at the scene, according to investigators.

Police say they believe an argument between Watson and Tevin Gooden, 28, of Baker, led to the shooting.

Gooden was arrested Monday, April 19 and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the charges of second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, obstruction of justice, and felon in possession of a firearm.
