City of Shreveport announces Port City Fest leading up to Bayou Classic

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The City of Shreveport is excited to announce it’s hosting one of the most anticipated matchups in college football, the Bayou Classic.

Grambling State University and Southern University will face off on Saturday, April 17.

Starting on Thursday, April 15, Shreveport will host Port City Fest. Fans can attend to experience the food, fun and excitement the city has to offer.

The list of events scheduled for the weekend, including the Mayor’s Golf Invitational Tournament, can be found on the Port City Fest website.

At Port City Fest, masks and social distancing will be enforced by COVID crowd managers, and temperatures will be checked before individuals enter Festival Plaza.

Mayor Adrian Perkins says the game will be a win for the fans, local economy and local tourism.

Shreveport Green will be holding a clean-up event ahead of the game on Saturday, April 10.
