BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A one-year-old child hit by a vehicle early Thursday morning near Florida Boulevard is expected to be okay, according to a spokesperson with the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The incident happened near the 12000 block of Florida Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 14.
Police say the child was with a caregiver who walked outside near a vehicle.
Once the caregiver put the child down, a passing car allegedly hit the one-year-old.
The child was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, the driver of the passing vehicle was cited for a hit and run and reckless driving.
