BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Another cold start today will give way to a noticeably warmer afternoon as highs climb into the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies.
The warm-up will be fueled by southerly winds in advance of an approaching cold front.
That front will quickly slide through the area during the predawn hours on Friday and will likely move through most areas without producing any rainfall.
In its wake, cooler weather returns from Friday into the weekend.
Highs will top out in the mid to upper 50s during that stretch, with lows near or slightly above freezing on both Saturday and Sunday. And it now looks like we should get through the weekend dry.
Temperatures will moderate during the first part of next week, with good rain chances returning by Wednesday.
There are some model differences in how long the rains will linger, but for now, we’ll keep decent rain chances into Thursday before drier weather returns by week’s end.
