BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Officials with Gov. John Bel Edwards’ office announced Monday, Jan. 4 one of the governor’s staffers tested positive for COVID-19 over the New Year’s holiday.
Two other staff members were deemed to have close contact with the employee who contracted the coronavirus have also been quarantined, as directed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH).
Officials say the employee who tested positive for the virus did not have close contact with the governor.
