LSU improves to 2-0 in SEC play with 77-69 OT win over Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. (WAFB) - The LSU women’s basketball team trailed Ole Miss by as many as 13 points late in the third quarter but rallied in the fourth quarter and dominated overtime to get the win.

The Lady Tigers (4-4, 2-0 SEC) pulled off the 77-69 victory in the extra frame over the Lady Rebels (6-1, 0-1 SEC). The score was 64-64 at the end of regulation.

Khayla Pointer finished with a double-double on 18 points (season-high) and 12 assists. She also had five rebounds and three steals but turned the ball over seven times. She is now ranked No. 11 in career assists in LSU history.

Faustine Aifuwa led LSU with 20 points. She also had seven rebounds. Tiara Young added 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Karli Seay chipped in 13 points.

The Lady Tigers won the battle down low on rebounds, 43-35.
