LPSO responds to shooting that leaves one injured

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person injured.

Authorities were called to the 25,000 stretch of Hwy 43 around 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4.

The victim was transported to the hospital and taken into surgery and is listed as stable at this time, said Sheriff Jason Ard.

One male is in LPSO custody at this time, Ard said.

“LPSO detectives obtained information that a Curtis Savoie was responsible for a shooting incident in Livingston Parish yesterday.  Savoie was located today at a residence off of Heritage Lane in Springfield.  Detectives also recovered the vehicle involved.  During this investigation, Savoie was also found to be in possession of firearms & illegal narcotics - all of which was recovered by detectives,” Ard said.

Savoie, from Loranger, is currently in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

This investigation remains ongoing.
