(WAFB) - Just 13 doses of vaccines used to battle coronavirus symptoms have been lost in Louisiana, “with doses remaining in vials and expiring in refrigeration,” state health officials said.
Officials could not immediately say whether the lost doses were Moderna’s vaccine or Pfizer’s.
The amount lost in Louisiana is dwarfed by losses reported in other states. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported 500 vaccine doses were lost after a pharmacist reportedly removed 50 vials, each containing 10 vaccine doses, from a refrigerator and failed to return them.
About 75 vaccine doses were lost in New Mexico because of potential overheating during delivery, the Santa Fe New Mexican reported.
