BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - LSU senior punter Zach Von Rosenberg announced on Sunday, Jan. 3 via Twitter that he would be forgoing his sixth year of eligibility to enter the NFL Draft.
Von Rosenberg was named the second team All-SEC Punter. He led the SEC in punts downed inside the 20-yard line with 27. He also led the league in punts of 50-plus yards with 18.
On the season Von Rosenberg averaged 43.9 yards on 59 punts. In 2018 he was a second team All-SEC selection.
In December Von Rosenberg was a named one of 16 semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award which is awarded annually to the top punter in college football.
Von Rosenberg was named the Ray Guy Punter of the Week this season. He won the award for his performance against Mississippi State and against South Carolina.
The 30-year-old punter is the oldest player on a college football roster. Von Rosenberg ranks No. 4 in school history in career punts with 140 and averages 44.0 yards per punt which is No. 3 in school history.
