APSO arrest three men in package thefts

ASCENSION PARISH (WAFB) - On Wednesday, December 16 the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) responded to a call in reference to three Black males stealing packages in the Shadows of Ascension subdivision and Fairmont Avenue in Prairieville.

Officials state that through investigation deputies were able to obtain information on the suspect vehicle and located the vehicle at a nearby car wash parking lot.

Deputies arrested 21-year-old John Vickers Jr., 18-year-old Jeremiah Preston, and 19-year-old Javin Aguillard.

APSO searched the vehicle and located several packages, deputies also obtained empty boxes in a nearby garbage can. Deputies were able to identify the majority of homeowners regarding the stolen packages.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit is asking if anyone is missing a package from the Naval Exchange or citizens who may live in the area and are missing packages to please call the sheriff’s office at 225-621-8330.

All three men were booked on six counts of criminal trespass and six counts of misdemeanor theft. They were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.

APSO states that through further investigation it was learned that Preston and Aguillard committed additional package thefts and charges were upgraded to felony theft with three additional counts of criminal trespassing.
