Man arrested in deadly shooting near North Boulevard

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - One man is dead after a shooting near North Boulevard on Wednesday night (12/9), according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Police responded to the shooting around 6 p.m. on S 20th Street near North Blvd.

A spokesperson for BRPD says Clarence Augustus, 36, was found inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

Augustus was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Jarvis Bowie, 20, was taken into police custody today by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force for his involvement in the shooting.

Bowie was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 1st Degree Murder and Assault/Drive by Shooting.
