2021 Southdowns Mardi Gras parade canceled due to pandemic

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Officials with the Krewe of Southdowns have decided to cancel the 2021 Mardi Gras parade and ball due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The announcement came on Wednesday, Dec. 2 on the krewes Facebook page.

Many have inquired about the status of our parade for the 2021 Mardi Gras season. Here is an official statement from our Krewe Captain and President, Tad Haller.

According to Krewe Captian/ President Tad Haller, “the health and safety of the public and our krewe members is our primary responsibility.”
