BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - President Donald Trump has announced his choice to fill the empty Supreme Court seat.

Trump announced on Saturday, Sept. 26 that Amy Coney Barrett will be nominated to fill the seat of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Barrett serves as a circuit judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

She is a native of Metairie, Louisiana and graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican High School.
