GRAND ISLE, La. (WVUE) - The International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo has been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Rodeo Board made this decision on Tuesday with the health and safety of workers and attendees in mind.

The Jefferson Parish Administration and Jefferson Parish Council support this decision and will assist event organizers in rescheduling this event at a later date, the parish said in a statement.

The tournament was scheduled for July 23 – 25.

The International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo is the oldest fishing tournament in the United States and has been taking place since 1928. The Rodeo is usually held during the last weekend in July. For more information about the Tarpon Rodeo, visit www.tarponrodeo.org.
