Detectives seeking cell phone footage of fatal Port Allen shooting

Man arrested in connection with fatal shooting in Port Allen

PORT ALLEN, La. (WAFB) - Detectives in West Baton Rouge Parish are asking for the public’s help to solve the killing of a 31-year-old man.

According to the sheriff’s office, Carnell Pierson, 35, shot and killed Kequaniel Green and injured Nakeidra Williams, 31, on Sunday, July 5 on Rev. Manual Street in Port Allen.

Investigators say there was a “number of people” present at the time of the homicide, and they have reason to believe cell phone video captured the moments leading up to and possibly during the shooting.

Officials are urging anybody with cell phone video, Facebook lives, or messenger posts of this incident to call 225-382-5200 and speak with an investigator.

Pierson turned himself in the next day and was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and felon in possession of a firearm.
