BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Fraternal Order of Police held a memorial service for fallen members of law enforcement Saturday, May 16.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the memorial service was live-streamed and made available to the public through the Baton Rouge Police Department’s Facebook page.
President John F. Kennedy declared May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week.
Throughout the week events are held around the country to recognize members of law enforcement who died while serving their communities.
