Mayor announces task force to bring medical supplies to Baton Rouge area hospitals

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Mayor Broome and health officials are asking for the public and local businesses to donate unused personal protection equipment (PPE) to help Baton Rouge area hospitals and first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Health officials are asking for the following items:

  • Germicidal wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Surgical masks
  • Procedure masks
  • N95 masks
  • Gowns/protective drapes
  • Goggles
  • Latex and non-latex gloves – all sizes

Officials with the Baton Rouge Health District say:

  • This initiative is currently primarily intended for business to business donations.
  • Please make sure to only include clean, boxed, sealed, and unused containers please.
  • For large quantities pickup arrangements can be made, please contact in advance.

Accepting donations: Monday through Friday, 9 to 11 a.m.
