Truck catches fire, burns carport, neighboring house

PLAQUEMINE, La. (WAFB) - Two houses in Plaquemine were damaged after a truck caught fire under a carport Friday morning.
The fire happened before 11 a.m. near the intersection of Julia Street and Long Street on Jan. 31.
Plaquemine Fire Chief Darren Ramirez says a truck pulled under a carport before catching fire for reasons unknown. The fire burned through the carport and damaged a neighboring house.
Ramirez says nobody was home at the time of the fire.
